About Rosemary Oil
Rosemary essential oil comes in three main chemotypes — camphor-type (most common), verbenone-type (regenerative, used in skincare) and 1,8-cineole-type (respiratory applications). Research has shown that simply inhaling rosemary aroma improves memory performance and alertness. One study showed verbenone chemotype rivals minoxidil for hair growth stimulation.
Health Benefits
- Inhalation proven to improve memory, concentration and alertness in published studies
- 1,8-Cineole type — expectorant and bronchodilator for respiratory support
- Carnosic acid provides neuroprotective antioxidant effects for brain health
- Promotes hair growth — comparable to minoxidil in one key study (verbenone type)
Culinary & Industrial Uses
- Hair care — scalp stimulant to promote hair growth and reduce thinning
- Aromatherapy for cognitive enhancement, study focus and memory support
- Personal care in skin-tightening and anti-ageing formulations
- Natural food preservative — rosemary extract (E392) replaces BHA/BHT
