About Aniseed
Aniseed has been prized since ancient Egypt and Rome for its delicate licorice-like aroma. The primary flavour compound is trans-anethole. In India widely used as a post-meal digestive (mukhwas). The global confectionery and liqueur industry — Pernod, Ouzo, Sambuca, Arak — relies heavily on aniseed oil.
