About Holy Basil
Holy Basil (Tulsi) is perhaps the most sacred plant in Hinduism and one of the most important herbs in Ayurveda. Found in virtually every Hindu household, it is worshipped daily and used medicinally. Multiple clinical studies have confirmed its adaptogen properties — it reduces cortisol and helps the body manage physical, chemical and psychological stress.
Health Benefits
- Ocimumosides A and B — primary adaptogen compounds that reduce cortisol
- Anti-inflammatory eugenol and beta-caryophyllene provide joint support
- Antimicrobial against bacteria, viruses and fungi — comprehensive immune support
- Antidiabetic properties shown to reduce blood glucose in clinical studies
Culinary & Industrial Uses
- Tulsi tea — the most popular Ayurvedic herbal tea in India and globally
- Tulsi drops and tinctures for daily immunity and stress management
- Ayurvedic formulations for respiratory health, immunity and stress
- Holy basil essential oil for aromatherapy and personal care
Processing & Grades
Aerial parts shade-dried to preserve ocimumosides. Three varieties available: Rama, Vana and Krishna Tulsi with different flavour profiles. Available whole, powder or extract. Standardised extract with 2–5% ursolic acid available.
