About Patchouli
Patchouli is one of the most distinctive aromatic herbs — its deep, earthy, woody-sweet aroma is unmistakable and used in a remarkable percentage of all perfumes worldwide. The essential oil is extracted from the dried leaves of Pogostemon cablin. India, Indonesia and China are the primary producers. The oil was historically used to protect silk and wool fabrics in trade.
