About Tejpat Powder
Tejpat powder is ground from Indian bay leaves (Cinnamomum tamala) — distinct from Mediterranean bay laurel. The powder form allows the cinnamon-clove-like complexity of tej patta to be incorporated smoothly into spice blends and masalas without the texture of whole leaves. Essential in authentic North Indian garam masala.
