About Turmeric Leaves
Turmeric leaves are the large, broad leaves of the turmeric plant used as natural food wrappers and flavouring in South Indian and Goan cuisine. The famous Patoli (rice and coconut sweet) is steamed in turmeric leaves which impart a subtle, warm flavour. The leaves contain volatile oils and a small amount of curcumin, providing mild turmeric character.
